Stephen J. Babineau, Conductor
Petersham Brass Band
The Petersham Brass Band, a community band of local musicians,
began performing for townspeople as early as 1885. As the name implies,
the band was formed originally with only brass instruments, as was the
style with the popular British Bands of the time. Woodwinds as were
added as the years progressed, and the band enjoyed a revival in 1914
under the late Rev. Robert Douthit. The band has performed summer concerts
every year since that time [exept for a brief pause during WW II].
Will Choe, Director

surrounding area. We perform for South Hadley's Independance Day celebration
as well as a fall concert and a spring concert.
